The Black Donnelly's

It seems that lately esteemed writers such as Paul Haggis, Aaron Sorkin and Bill Vanzt are having a hard time crossing over to small projects. David E. Kelley hailing from the tv circle is also having issues getting Wedding Belles off the ground. But at least he doesn't have to film his series in dark hues and hallway races. Studio 60 was pulled from the line up to make way for Haggis' baby The BD's. Think Sopranos set in Boston. It's the Irish family vs. the Italians. Tommy being head of the family looks about 14 years old and his older brother has the mind of a 14 year old. One brother in the first ep was bashed in the head and lays on a vent in a SoBo hospital. So his acting chops remain to be seen. The chick from the OC plays a small town girl with big dreams and a husband who is dead although she thinks he's still alive. Then why sleep with Tommy? oh...because you crush on him major. Poor Tommy...his brother gets hospitalized, mom is stalked by the italians, he has a gun pressed into his head within seconds of the trigger tripped and the OC chick jets out of their post-coital bed so fast he can't get his boxers on. With a 1st ep like this I can't wait for the next. Plus I have a soft spot for the Irish accents. Hopefully Haggis can keep it rolling. Unlike his buddy Sorkin.
